

Carol E. Blount passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at her residence Discovery Village in Ft. Myers, FL. Prior to her time living in Discovery Village, she was at home in the Legends, Ft. Myers, and before that in Palos Park, IL. She was born June 25, 1947 in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of Mary L. Blount and William R. Blount.
She attended Indiana University in Bloomington, IN where she earned both a bachelor's and master's degree. She also completed advanced graduate work at Xavier University in Chicago. Carol spent most of her adult life teaching high school and coaching both women's basketball and bowling at Reavis High School in Burbank, IL. At Reavis, she was a well-respected teacher and was noted for her compassion for her students. After her early retirement in 1999, she moved to Florida to start enjoying her retirement.
Survivors include her sisters, Sandra L. Stence (Gene) of Estero, FL and Donna M. DeSpain (Michael) of Naperville, IL; a niece and nephew, Alicia S. Kirk (Chris) and Patrick M. DeSpain (Naya Bravo); and one great nephew, Hudson E. Kirk.
The family is extremely grateful for the loving care given to Carol by the staff at Discovery Village, the home health agency, Assisting Hands Fort Myers, and Hope Hospice.
