She will be lovingly remembered by Richard, her husband of 50 years, and two cherished daughters Jennifer (Matt) and Amy (Daniel); and grandchildren, Owen, Ellie and Sophia. Carol made friends of every acquaintance and will be missed by many.
Carol was born to Mathias and Anna Poltz on December 11, 1948 in Passaic, New Jersey. She met Richard at the age of 15, whom she married in 1970. Together they valued a balanced life of work and play, and a commitment to travel and adventure. Her sense of adventure began as her family moved from Minnesota, Virginia, New Jersey and eventually northeast Ohio, where they resided for 20 years. Carol began her successful career as a Nurse Practitioner long enough to become a hero to her family and all who were touched by her loving hands. Her life work evolved into pharmaceutical sales and eventually to her passion in the travel industry. In their retirement, Carol and Richard traveled extensively, including a five-month world cruise in 2019. She emphasized the importance of experiencing new cultures and foreign places as a way to appreciate life’s excitement and wonder.
A celebration of her life will be held from 11 am – 1 pm on Friday, February 5 th at Hodges Funeral Home 525 111th Ave N, Naples, Florida. Memorial remarks from friends and family will begin at 12 pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 7775 Vanderbilt Beach Rd, Naples, Florida, on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.
