She was born July 12, 1944 in Kilkee, Ireland, the daughter of Malachy and Mary Jane Foley. She obtained her nursing degree and was a board member of the Irish Peace Institute and Wild Geese Association. She was involved in recruiting nurses from abroad to America and sponsoring musicians for bursaries in Belfast/Northern Ireland.
Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband, Hans Schmacht; daughters, Natalie Schmacht and Claudia Von Boeselager, and grandchildren, Antonia Von Boeselager and Francesca Von Boeselager.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Noon at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108 with Father Nick Thompson officiating. Inurnment will be immediately following in Naples Memorial Gardens.
