Dale was born in New Haven, CT and lived in New York and Miami until her family settled in Weston, CT. Dale was an excellent dancer and a star in school. She continued excelling academically at Yale, a fact she preferred to keep quiet. Even so, her fame as a superb note-taker spread, and her notes were widely sought after. In attending Yale, she followed in her father and grandfather’s footsteps. It was at Yale that she met the love of her life, Alex, while crossing College Street after leaving a dance. They introduced themselves to one another, Alex talked her into going back to the dance, and they became inseparable. In 1980, she graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and was accepted to Yale Law School. She graduated from Yale Law in 1983.
After graduation, Dale worked as a trusts and estates attorney and later as a recruiter for lawyers. However, her true passion was raising her three daughters. After Ariel, Abby, and Rachel graduated from college, Dale decided to apply what she learned about helping them navigate the stress of college by founding Crush College Stress. CCS helped dozens of students grow and succeed in college. Dale was a patient and careful listener and a calming presence, whose abundant empathy enabled her to help her clients thrive in college.
Dale’s family was her world. She always knew what a family member needed and made sure they were taken care of. Any loved one who had an issue or an emergency could count on Dale to coolly solve the problem. She organized family reunions, holiday gatherings, and wedding plans, which always went smoothly because of her vision and hard work.
Dale was a valued member of her communities in Naples and Wilton. The family will be celebrating her life in both locations. The funeral will be held on May 5th at 2pm at Naples Memorial Garden (525 111th Avenue N, Naples, Florida) with shiva to follow at the family’s home. A memorial service will be held on May 17th at 10:30am at Temple Israel (14 Coleytown Road, Westport, Connecticut) with reception to follow at the family’s home in Wilton, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation.
