Daniel Gene Sams

He started working at Neisers five & dime store in high school, and stayed with them until he moved to Naples. He joined the Collier County Sheriff’s Office in 1980, working in Warrants, Civil Process, Bailiff, and Investigations, and retired from there in 2008 to be a stay at home dad.

He was a Leo in high school and then became a member of the Naples Nites Lions Club. He joined the Ft. Pierce Lodge as a Master Mason and became 32nd degree Scottish Rite.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years Lori, his parents Charles “Bill” and Mary “Florence”, his children Sarah (Jason) McFarland, Justin (David Arens, partner), Clayton, and Jordan, and 2 grandchilden, Oliver and Wyatt McFarland.

Funeral arrangements will be held on Friday, December 29th at 2:00 pm at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens.

A gathering of family and friends for Daniel will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, Florida 34108, followed by a a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
