It is with great sadness over our earthly loss, yet with joyful assurance of his triumphant entrance into eternity, that we announce the passing of David Willard Bollinger. On June 4, 2026, David was welcomed home into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, in whom he placed his unwavering trust.
David was born on July 27, 1940, in Cressona, Pennsylvania, to Willard and Elsie Bollinger. From an early age, he possessed a remarkable work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. At just 14 years old, he began working alongside his father in the family coal business, driving trucks and learning the value of hard work. Determined to build a future of his own, he carefully saved his earnings and purchased his first semi-truck, beginning a lifelong love of the open road and automobiles.
In 1966, David expanded his passion for vehicles when he joined the City of Allentown Police Department as a motorcycle patrolman. During this time, he drew upon the electrical training he had received in high school and founded Bollinger Electric. In 1973, he left law enforcement to devote himself full-time to growing the business.
Never one to stand still, David’s entrepreneurial pursuits continued to flourish. He owned and operated a successful laundromat, apartment buildings, and one of the area’s most successful Carvel Ice Cream stores. His vision and determination led him into real estate development through Country Time Homes, where he helped create beautiful homes and communities that stand as part of his lasting legacy.
Although David retired from the electrical business in 1999 and moved to Florida full-time, retirement was never truly in his vocabulary. Always eager for the next opportunity and challenge, David founded Silver Fox Real Estate Holdings and continued his work as a commercial real estate developer.
While David achieved success in many business endeavors, his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was being a father and grandfather. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his grandchildren, sharing stories, wisdom, laughter, and unconditional love. His family was the true treasure of his life, and in the end, his story became one of reconciliation and restoration.
David will be remembered for his tireless work ethic, adventurous spirit, entrepreneurial vision, extreme generosity, and deep faith in God. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the businesses he built, the communities he helped create, and the family he loved so dearly.
David was first married to Joy Sharon in 1961. Together they were blessed with two children: David W. Bollinger, Jr. and his wife, Heather A. Bollinger, and their son, Lane; and Beth Ann (Bollinger) Pacchioli and her husband, Randal Pacchioli, and their children, Christopher, Randall, and Bronwyn.
In 1970, David married Barbara Ritter Duggan, who preceded him in death in 2023. David lovingly raised Barbara’s three children as his own: Michael Patrick Duggan; James Scott Duggan; and Kathleen Duggan Dellinger and her husband, Roger Dellinger. Kathleen and Roger’s children are Autumn and Greta.
Together, David and Barbara were blessed with two children: Barbara Bollinger Kaufmann and her husband, Richard Kaufmann, and their children, Madelynn , David Adler, and Jerald Alden; and Rob Bollinger and his children, Bridgette, Blake and Alexis.
On March 30, 2024, David was blessed once again when he found and married Dolores Spitler Habecker. Proverbs 18:22 states, “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord,” and David truly did. He was blessed to share two wonderful years with Dolores as she stood faithfully by his side, loving and caring for him, for which his family will be forever grateful.
