Diane was born on August 6, 1940 to Peter and Louise (nee Tusk) Raphoon in Chicago, IL. Working for over 30 years in downtown Chicago in a male-dominated maintenance division of Western Union, Diane developed a quick wit and a hearty personality, retiring in 1990.
She married Burton Buhrke on November 17, 1962 and together they lived life with a flair and flourish that included their passion for the Cubs, Bears, and traveling. Diane was an avid musician playing piano daily. She also pursued her gift for gardening and growing flowers. Not lost on her neighbors was her skilled intellect as she habitually won at Mexican Train and Hand & Foot, and her epicurean skills left many enjoying her “Diane” creations.
Diane is survived by her husband Burton, her sister Joyce Rossi, and her brother Jim Raphoon.
