Donald H. “Duck” Wortman, 86, passed away October 18, 2018 in Naples, FL. He was born June 10, 1932 in Evansville, IN to the late Wilbert and Helen Wortman. Don graduated from Reitz High School in 1951, and married Royal M. Criswell on April 12, 1952. Don joined the Air Force in 1953 with an honorable discharge in 1960. Upon completion of training, Don began his career as an air route traffic controller. Don retired from the Indianapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center and Evansville Regional Airport after 38 years of service. In 1995, Don and Royal built a home on Lake Barkley in Cadiz, KY. In 2003, Don and Royal moved to Naples, FL to enjoy the warmer weather. Don was an avid golfer who enjoyed fishing, boating and spending time with his family. Don is survived by his wife of 66 years, Royal (Criswell) Wortman; daughters, Susan Adams (Jim) of Naples, FL and Patricia Day (Kent) of Plainfield, IN; son, Chris Wortman (Mary Jo) of Naples, FL; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, W. Curtis Wortman. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, October 26, 2018 at Salem Church of Darmstadt, 14134 Darmstadt Road, Evansville, IN, officiated by Rev. David Peterson. Friends may visit 3:00 to 8:00PM, Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, Evansville, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be mailed to the Salem Church of Darmstadt.
