Donna Ann (Engle) McCabe, age 65, of Naples, Florida peacefully ended her 16-year journey with Alzheimer’s on Saturday, July 22, 2023, hand in hand with her husband Bill at their home in Naples, Florida.
Donna was born on November 18, 1957, to Robert and Margaret Engle in Hammond, Indiana and is survived by her 7 siblings.
Donna is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Bill McCabe, her three children, Melissa (Nick) Wychocki, Jaclyn (Wil) Glaser and Michael (Bela) McCabe, and her five grandchildren, Alex and Annabel Wychocki, Levi and Judah Glaser and Rebecca McCabe.
Donna’s greatest love was her family. She had a smile that would light up the room and warmed the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her. She was a devout Catholic serving as Eucharistic Minister for many years. Donna had many talents and hobbies. She was an avid gardener who took pride in her ever-changing flower beds. She had an eye for interior design and loved decorating her homes and learning new trends such as wallpapering and faux painting. She loved her weekly visits to Marshalls with her Ginger Peach Tea, “because you never know!”. Donna crocheted nearly every night and proudly made custom afghans for each of her 3 children and 26 nieces and nephews for their high school graduation. She was a skilled seamstress, which was showcased in her beautiful, custom designed, homemade wedding dress. Donna loved the water and was happiest on a boat with a Miller Light in hand, Jimmy Buffet playing and surrounded by friends and family. She never missed a sunset and told her family and friends if they ever missed her, to find her there in God’s beauty.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, August 7th at 3pm at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108 with a reception to follow at Deep Lagoon restaurant.
