Emil, while director of Drag Racing for Ford, supported my Racing Program with both cars, parts and networking.  Emil introduced me to Carl Holbrook, another race car owner-driver, who later became my brother-in-law and business partner.  Emil's  friendship and help was pivotal in my success, and made those years memorable.  Untill  meet again on God's golden shore.....Godspeed Emil.

Where to begin? While our families werent always close , the love between the twins and my mother was unconditional. The visits with them were always hysterically fun, especially when none of the three could agree on the same memory, unsure if it was years of memories softening  or the presence of a good dirty martini being enjoyed by the trio.  Uncle Emil and Kevin spent hours and hours discussing cars and racing, am sure he misses those conversations the most. He loved bragging on all three of you when we'd get together,

One of my favorite memories of my Dad is when I was  a senior in high school.  I was out very very VERY late with friends (they shall remain anonymous) and I needed to sneak back in the house quietly.  I decided to shimmy up the  wrought-iron column on to the roof and go through my bedroom window.   It seemed like a good plan.   I managed to get on the roof and I heard my Dads window open up (gulp).

Dad said, "what are you doing?"
Linda, "Hi,  I am trying to get in the house without waking you up."
Dad, "Linda, thats a horrible plan, I'm a light sleeper."
Linda, "I didn't take that into consideration".
Dad, "Next time why don't you just use the front door".

His window closed and we never spoke of it again until years later when I said, do you remember when you caught me on the roof trying to sneak in the house.  He smiled and said, " I still think you should have just used the front door".  We had a great laugh.

My Dad was a gentle man with a wicked sense of humor who loved to laugh.  We miss him everyday.  

Emil was my boss at Ford Motor Company for several years while working in the racing department.  He was always a lot of fun and in good spirits.  Emil, my husband Arnie, and I had lunch or dinner together every time we came to Naples where we spent the month of March.  Most of the time his twin brother, Larry, was with us and we shared a lot of laughter and memories.  In the summer in Traverse City Emil and his friend Jerry would come to the Northern Michigan Ford Retirees luncheon which I helped to manage for quite a few years.  It was always fun.  Email will be missed very much.   We are saddened.

I was so deeply saddened to hear of your Father's sudden passing. Prayers and hugs to all of you during this very trying and difficult time.
