

Ernesto was born August 3, 1934 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico to his late parents, Alberto Andino and Paz Pagan.
He arrived in Newark, NJ at the age of 17 to pursue a more suitable life. After a few small jobs, he secured a home and was able to return to Puerto Rico to wed his beautiful bride, Carmen Pura on July 1, 1960. He soon after established a lifelong career as a machine operator at Faber-Castell Pencil Co. in Newark where he later retired. Ernesto and Carmen resided in Newark, NJ for 62 years at 153 Garside Street while raising their two sons, Ernesto “Speedy” Jr. and Davey “Dino” Andino. After the sudden passing of their son Speedy, they relocated to Naples, FL to reside with Davey, Carleen and family. Ernesto, also known as Nelson or Cano to most family and friends was a loyal, hardworking man that not only provided for his family but was always generous to lend a helping hand. Ernesto’s endless jokes and hilarious stories will never be forgotten. We will speak of him often and always smile. May he now rest in peace alongside many loved ones.
Ernesto is survived by his wife, Carmen Pura Andino, son, Davey Andino (Carleen), grandsons, Justin (Jessica Rosillo), Jordan, Jayson, Alex and Ernesto Andino, III as well as a great grandson, Eden Gabriel Andino. He also leaves 2 brothers, Pablo Andino and Ramon (Monchito) Andino and 1 sister, Mare Andino Montanez. He was preceded in death by his son, Ernesto “Speedy” and 8 brothers and sisters.
No viewing or visitation will be held at this time. The family requests that flowers be sent to the home at 717 107th Ave N, Naples, FL and that no lilies be sent due to allergies.
