

Passed away peacefully January 16, 2015.
Gene was born in Minneapolis, Mn. Where he grew up in the Bryn Mawr area, attended West High School, and graduated from the University of Minnesota. He was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany for two years. Gene joined his father in the The Mel Foster Company in 1954, a manufacturer’s representative firm his father founded in 1924. With his visionary thinking he grew the business to highly respected electronics company, retiring shortly after the company’s anniversary of 75 years as a leader in the electronic industry. He was an active member of the OEM Electronics Manufacturer’s Representatives organizations ERA and RMA, where many foundational friends were built and remain.
One of Gene’s favorite memories was his years coaching baseball & football, and acting as guidance counselor to his young teams. He was an honored husband, a best friend, and great Dad to all his kids! He was always available to give support, advice, an encouraging word, and undying support to those around him.
After retirement he moved Florida with his beloved Bridgette where they began a new Team career in Naples, selling real estate in Southwest Florida.
Gene was preceded in death by his Father Melville Embry Foster, his mother Irene Aaby Foster and his Brother Douglas.
He is survived by Sister Irene Orr & husband, wife Bridgette Foster, Sons & Daughters, Jeff (Kim), Kris, Leigh, Korrine (Brad), Mathew, (Gina), Paul (Judy). Survived also by 17 Grandchildren: Meghan (Jeff) Seth (Kerry), Sarah, Alyssa, Bridget, Nicholas, Jena, Tanner, Jami, Jese, Kyle, Matthew, Paul, Hannah, Jordan, Ocen, & Apio, Lindsay (Matt), and 7 great grandchildren Benjamin, Cooper, Harrison, Evelyn, Joshua, Nolan and Vivian
Visitation in Florida will be held Monday, January 19th, 2015 at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave N, Naples from 4PM to 7 PM.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at First Baptist Church on Orange Blossom at 1:00 PM.
Memorial in Minneapolis there will be a memorial service at Washburn McGreavey on W. 50th St. in Edina, on January 23rd, 2015. Burial services will be held at Ft. Snelling.
