

Entering the US Army in 1948, he served tours of duty in the Far East, Southeast Asia, Europe and Africa, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major twenty two years later, a combat veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Among his decorations, Mr. Trapasso was awarded the Bronze Star, The Department of Defense Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters. Upon retiring from the military in 1970, Frank became a residential contractor in Orlando, Florida, and took pride in the many homes which he designed and built in that beautiful city. In 1982 he moved to Baldwin, New York, where he owned and operated a retail store, retiring in 1993 and moving to Naples the following year.
Mr. Trapasso then began what he said was the most enjoyable period of his life, living in paradise, Naples, and spending most of his time with Maria, his lifelong companion and wife of 70 years, and his six grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Maria; three sons, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 11:00 at St. Ann Catholic Church. Cremation was entrusted to Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens.
Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
