Georgia Jean Byrd "Scarlet" 82 years old, of Ft. Myers, FL passed away on December 4, 2018. She was born March 26, 1936 in Detroit, MI to George and Jane (nee Milligan) Noomie, and married John Richard Byrd on February 12, 1955.
Our mother was blessed with a large family of six children to include Brenda (Jerry), John (Karan), Jeff (Camille), Belinda, Melinda (Mike), and Bruce (Jennifer). She adored her 14 grandchildren Michael, Deanna, Jennifer, Daniel, Amanda, Paige, Lauren, Brian, Jordan, Calista, Connor, Jerry Dean, Nathan and Jacqueline. Also, her four great grandchildren Mason, Norah, Amelia, and brand new baby Koby. Of course, don't forget her loving dog, "Dolly". Our beautiful mother was a devoted wife of 63 years, and wonderful mother to her six children. Her favorite times in life were loving and caring for her family. She was dedicated each day to providing the most wonderful home for her husband and children. Always ten steps ahead of what needed to be done, including a beautiful home, awesome meals, taking care of all our times in need.
Our mother taught us the love of life, commitment to what we wanted, caring and thinking of other people, and helping anyone in need. Our mother truly new the meaning of honesty, integrity, and expected this from all her children. Mom had so many favorite and compassionate things she enjoyed in life; her dedication to 50+ years with the Pythian organization, which truly helped underprivileged children, and young adults with scholarships for college. Our mother became the "SUPREME" Chief of the Pythian organization for a number of years and then past "SUPREME" Chief. She couldn't wait for family vacations up to Northern MI (Burt Lake) for 35+ years and cruises with all her family. Her 63 years of marriage and all the amazing experiences with her soul mate, including the yearly trip to the Hawaiian Islands or a very special place that Dad would take her. Mom was a beautiful woman and so classy!! Remember the fashion statements on their Vegas trips!!
Our wonderful mother was there for us each day; all music and school events, sports and always had us ready for the experiences we would encounter. She consoled us when we were hurt or had a bad day. Mom believed in faith and always made Sunday's a beautiful family day; she loved listening to all of us sing from the choir.
We will love you forever Mom.
Your children know you and dad will be happy forever.
