Obituary of Gloria Grace Franza
Gloria Grace Franza (nee Peppe), 95, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend, passed away after a long illness on July 28, 2022 at Vitas Hospice. She was born on July 9, 1927 in Greenwich Village, NY, the daughter of Rose and Joseph Peppe, Sr. Gloria and her devoted husband of 73 years, Fred, moved to Naples in 1989 from Long Island, New York where they had lived for over thirty years. She was a longtime employee of Macy’s New York. She was preceded in death by her parents and loving brothers, Michael Peppe, Andrew Peppe and Joseph Peppe, Jr. In addition to her husband, she is survived by their three adoring children, daughter Lorraine (James) Orr of Fort Myers, FL; daughter Geri (Anthony) Connolly of Naples, FL; and son Fred (Nina) Franza, Jr. of Bohemia, NY; five grandchildren, James (Andrea) Orr, Jr. of Fort Myers, FL, Joseph (Kara) Franza of Islip, NY, Bryan Connolly of Naples, FL, Nina (Cristian) Murphy of Ronkonkoma, NY and Craig Connolly of Naples, FL; four great-grandchildren, Joseph Michael Franza, Jr., Hallie Shea Franza, Isabella Gracelyn Orr and Henry William Murphy. Gloria is also survived by sister-in-law, Fern Peppe of Naples, FL, and many nieces, nephews and friends. A visitation for Gloria will be held, Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 10:30-11:30 am at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108. Followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Noon at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108. Interment will be immediately following in Naples Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow at Hodges Funeral Home. Those wanting to remember Gloria with a donation, in lieu of flowers, are asked to consider Vitas Inpatient Unit at Solaris Healthcare Imperial, 900 Golf Course Blvd, Naples, FL 34110. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Franza family.
