He married the love of his life Samantha Buckenroth in 1955. In 1972, Gene & Sammy relocated to Naples, FL. Gene loved fishing, hunting, golfing, Nascar and anything associated with the outdoors. In 1978 he started “Gene Houchin Construction: and retired from his business many years later. After retirement they moved to The Villages, Florida.
Gene will be missed by his wife Sammy, Son Bob Houchin (Tammy) of Naples, daughter Terri Joe (Larry) of Lady Lake, FL, his daughter Kim Hunter, his 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Gene is also survived by and is predeceased by his parents Harold & Marguerite Houchin.
Visitation will be held Oct 2nd at Hodges Funeral Home At Naples Memorial Gardens at 10:00 AM, Rev. Davidson of 1st Baptist Church of Naples will officiate the funeral service at 12:00.
