Herminia was born in Sumay, Guam, (Familian Bedot) and grew up in the villages of Agana Heights and Piti Guam. A former resident of San Diego, California. She was an active member of the Sons’ and Daughters’ of Guam Club San Diego; the Chamorro choir; a UPAC social worker for the Chamorro community, including the Chamorro seniors’ day program. She retired from Delta Airlines’ service company, GAT.
An avid gardener and believer in the healing power nature's herbs, she always had a beautiful garden. She blessed our homes and family gatherings with her love of cooking, nurturing love and infectious joyful laugh. A generous loving heart, she was always ready to help family, friends and anyone in need. Her strong enduring presence is surely missed.
In her passing she now joins her husband, Ignacio G. Garrido; grandson, Gabriel E. Santos; parents, David Taitano & Maria S. Cruz; parents-in-law, Enrique M. & Ana G. Garrido; brother, Thomas Babauta; brothers/sister-in-law & spouses, Maria G. & Jose C. Guerrero, Roman L.G. Garrido, Francisco L.G. & Dorothea S. Garrido, Lidfield G. Lucuab, George & Terry Garrido, Alfred & Rachel A. Garrido, and Annie G. & Vicente Cruz, Wayne Colton.
