Jim was in my graduating class at OHS in 1961.  It was a very large class, and I never really got to know Jim, but he always had a smile for everyone he met.  Prayers and sympathy are extended from us to Jim's whole family in their loss of one so dear.

JAMES A BLAKE 3/26/1943  12/24/2014 

As we now are in our 70's most of our daily events are in the form of Memories.
Since I have known Jim from our days at CFJC (Ocala 1962), through our years at U of Florida, and our arrival here in Naples in 1972 I have lots of Memories – and Jim had more -- which we would often rehash on his porch, sometimes with a beer.  Jim's ability to recall events was always sharp, clear, and with “opinion”.
His stories would often take him back to his Ocala classmates and friends.

Over our years here in Naples we had spent many, many hours going over events of the past.  Then the conversations would shift to current events.  And Jim did have “opinions” of the current political doings, from his neighborhood, to our Country, and of the World.  He was up on them all.  It was a blessing that we were of the same “Conservative” mindset.

I am still amazed as to how Jim handled his illness – always remained cheerful with a pleasant attitude while enduring his inability to do things.   Never complained and always expressed thankfulness for Judy's patience for putting up with him.
And then Wolfe arrived - Jim's 1st grandchild.  Wolf's arrival consumed Jim's life – nothing else mattered.  His conversations changed (reduced) from political issues to how much joy it was to have Wolf around.
When visiting on 12/21 Jim mentioned how proud he was of Wolf and wished that he would soon have another grandchild since they are so enjoyable.
As another friend described Jim  --  “he was certainly interesting”.
I am truly going to miss stopping by Jim's for “updates” (and Opinions) on current events.
Jim was absolutely a Best Friend.


A good friend to many. He will be truly missed. Loved talking to him about the good ole days of farming in Immokalee. Love and prayers to Judy Anne and kids.

The Waltbillig family loves you and will miss you dearly.
