James Ellis Pence

Jim was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois where he later taught high school and coached the boys’ football team and the basketball team to a State Championship. He, his wife and family moved to Park Ridge, Illinois where he worked as an investment broker in Chicago for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Judy and his parents Margarite and Chester Pence of Rockford. Jim is survived by his wife Ruth Pence and his children Michael, Katie Bates, Patty Gogoel, Julie Pence and his grandchildren Dylan, Hunter, Kara, Kelly, Andy, Margo, David, Carly, Jeff, Melissa, Michelle, Madison, Jackson and his great grandson Mario. He is also survived by his step children Cynthia Boyer, Elizabeth Johnson and Thomas Johnson.

Jim was a long time member of Park Ridge Country Club and served on their Board of Directors. In Naples, he was an active member of the Country Club of Naples and served on their Board of Directors for several years.

A memorial service will be held at Hodges Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 21 at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to the Collier County Domestic Animal Services, 7610 Davis Blvd, Naples, Florida 34104.
