When I first moved to our Banyan Woods neighborhood and joined the Naples Newcomers Club, Janice, who was already a member, called and offered me a ride to the next meeting. At the time, I didn’t know her well but she was so easy to talk to I was immediately put at ease. Her calm presence made it so much easier to walk in to a large meeting where I knew virtually no one!
Over time, we spent much more time together at luncheons and events and I found that Janice had a sly sense of humor and a fun loving streak that was unexpected, as she was outwardly reserved and ladylike.
We were also in the neighborhood book club together for several years as she fought her illness. Her strength and courage were a source of inspiration to all of us. She was a great reader and contributed much to the group with her intelligent commentary as well as her excellent book recommendations.

She will be sorely missed, but will continue to live in our memories.

Janice will be sorely missed. She is the first friend I made when I joined The Naples Newcomers Club. We attended many events together. She is the one who introduced me to Mahjong, had me to her house to go over the basics before I started playing. Now she is at peace. My condolences to Gerry and the rest of her family.
