
The second of three children, Mrs. Green was born in New York City on March 14, 1922. She graduated from New York’s Calhoun School in 1938 and from Connecticut College (then known as Connecticut College for Women) in 1942.
She married William Segal Green on June 27, 1942. Her husband was Deputy Attorney General of the State of New Hampshire and a founding member of Sheehan, Phinney, Bass + Green in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Sharing her husband’s passion for community service, Mrs. Green worked as a social worker for the New Hampshire State Division of Welfare for 23 years, focusing on child care concerns. She served as President of the Elliot Hospital Senior Associates, as President of the Manchester Girls’ Club and as a director of the Greater Manchester Child Care Association, as a director of the New Hampshire Visiting Nurse Association and of the Manchester Settlement Association.
Mrs. Green also was a member of Manchester’s Temple Adath Yeshurun and its Sisterhood, and was a Life Member of Hadassah.
Mrs. Green is survived by her brother, Benjamin Jacobson, Jr.; her three children, William Scott Green,, Nancy E. Green, and Richard S. Green; and four grandchildren.
