

John was an entrepreneur; he started his first business at eight years old by collecting glass milk bottles for a quarter per household. He had 40 residents on his route. He started traveling at the age of ten by going to California to visit family.
He proudly served in the United States Army for two years and was stationed in Japan.
John married the love of his life, Mildred and they made a beautiful family with their three daughters. He resided in Kansas City for 94 years.
John founded "Vermillion Exterminators" in 1964 again brining his joy to each household. He retired at the age of 92 in 2018. At the age of 94, he relocated to Naples, Florida to be closer to his daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
John was always the center of attention. He had an infectious love for life; If you had the pleasure to know him, you would find him singing and telling stories, or giving great advice. He had a passion for making others happy. You knew he was coming; you could hear his singing before he arrived. Those who knew him, were deeply touched by his wisdom and deep faith. He was loved by all. His love of life, legacy, and magnetic personality will truly be missed.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mildred, daughter J. Susette Morris, a Grandson Andrew Jones, and son-in-law Tyrone Copper.
John is survived by his daughters Jonasine (Bill) Shobe and Loretta Copper. His grandchildren: Carrie (Mark), Amanda (Justin), Sarabeth (Blake), Jonathan (Paula), Jordon (Andre): great-grandchildren: Jared, Jasper, Paul (Isabelle), Kellan, Michaela, Jonas, Rylee, Rory, and Charlie: great-great-grandchild: Maria.
