Joseph H. Higgins

Joe was the devoted husband of Christine, loving father of Joseph (Emily) and Brian (Laura) and stepfather of Anthony Robertson. He was the proud grandfather of Rylee, Maia, Grace, and Liam, loving son-in-law to Joan Stewart, brother-in-law to Duane (Julie) and Scot. He is the former husband and friend of Mary Collias. And loving friend of Denise, Louann, Kyle, Joe, Jan, Geoff and Cindy.

Joe was born in Chicago, IL in 1946 to Rita Higgins and went to St. Rita’s High School. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966-1969 and was stationed in Germany and Arizona.

After his service, he returned to Illinois, graduated from Lewis University, had a successful career at ComED/Exelon and later in real estate with his wife Chris. Joe and Chris relocated to Naples, Florida in 2009 where they have truly enjoyed the warm weather and relaxed lifestyle.

Joe will be fondly remembered for his enjoyment of his grandchildren, his no-nonsense Chicago humor, golf, love of a good Italian combo sandwich, and his dedication to his wife and sons.

Visitation will be Friday, September 10th from 5-7 P.M. and a celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 11th at 2 P.M. at Hodges Funeral Home At Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108.
