Joseph D. Meehan, Sr. passed away peacefully after a long illness on July 4, 2015, originally from Philadelphia, PA and a longtime resident of Naples, FL. Joseph will be deeply missed by his wife Sallie, daughter Michelle (Meehan) Fiallos, son; Joseph Jr., sister Mary Pietrowski, brother James, and three grandchildren. Joe is preceded in death by his brother Michael. Joe was a disabled Vietnam veteran and a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 31 years. Joe was loved and will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Association (Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675), or the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF 1020 19th St NW, Suite 475 Washington, DC 20036). A Viewing will be held on Friday July 10, 2015 (TODAY) from 12 PM to 1:30 PM at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, with a Celebration of Life Mass to follow at 2:00 PM. Full military burial services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 2:30 PM in Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL.
