Joyce Marie (John) Morrison, 61, of Naples, FL, passed away peacefully on April 20th, 2023 with her family by her side. Joyce was born in Syracuse, NY on August 25, 1961 to June Larock and Howard John. Joyce grew up in Liverpool, NY and graduated from Liverpool High School in 1979.
The bedrock of Joyce’s life can be captured in three-words-Faith, Family, and Friends. Joyce’s kindness and compassion was felt by everyone she met. Her friends meant the world to her. Joyce enjoyed playing cards, traveling, bowling, walking on the beach and playing board games with dear friends, but most of all, she loved time spent with family, friends and her dogs, Bonnie and Clyde.
Joyce always enjoyed being with her daughters. She was a loving mother and a wonderful friend. Joyce left a lasting mark on all who knew her, and she will be sorely missed. She was inspirational for her strength and courage in her fight against cancer during her final 18 months.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents, June and Howard John and her former husband, Dan Morrison. She will be greatly missed by all of those she leaves behind including her daughters, Dr. Jennifer Joyce (Ibrahima) Morrison-Diallo of Arverne, NY and Jaclyn Danielle Morrison of Naples, FL, her sisters Mary (George) Clarke of Fort Myers,FL, Linda John of Verona Beach, NY, Pat John, of Jamesville, NY and her brother Paul (Shari) John of Camillus, NY along with several cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends and colleagues who will miss her very much.
Calling hours will be from 5-6:45 pm on Saturday, April 22, 2023, followed by services at 6:45pm at Hodges Funeral Home, 525 111th Ave North, Naples, FL. For those in upstate New York, a celebration of life will take place in Syracuse, NY at a later date.
