Throughout the 6 month battle with advanced lung cancer, Meg was surrounded by her loving family, friends and caregivers who described her as a person of extraordinary courage, strength and kind-heartedness.
Meg was adored by her husband Lou Traina and cherished by her two children John Traina and Julia Traina. She was well-loved by so many in the community, especially those who are active in charitable and philanthropic causes. She could always be found perusing the silent-auction tables, or soliciting the gifts for worthy fundraising events. She always “walked the talk” in her support of a good cause, clocking countless volunteer hours for local organizations and mission work overseas.
A former banker, Meg treasured raising her children as a stay-home mom. Neighborhood and school children often referred to Meg as ‘momma Traina’. In a mission for an orphanage on Cat Island, Bahamas she affectionately held the title, ‘Sugar Momma’ by the children. Raising her two children full time was Meg’s greatest work and her life’s most worthy cause.
In her battle with cancer and in her final days, Meg continued to bless all those who cared for her with kindness and love.
