Michael Jerry Applegate

Michael Jerry Applegate, 69, of Naples, FL passed away after a brief battle with cancer in his home on Sunday, August 13th 2023. He is survived by his wife, Lori and his sons, Brooks and Chandler, and his daughter-in-law, Erin. He is also survived by his brothers, Stacy and Eugene, his sisters-in-law Barb and Natalie, his brother and sister-in-law Richard and Mary, and his niece and nephews, Robert, Chris, Sam, and Hannah. His spirit joins his mother and father and his nephew Steven. Michael was born on September 29th, 1953 to Fred and Marianne Applegate in Nebraska City and raised, along with his brothers, in a modest house in Louisville, Nebraska. In this small town, he fostered a life-long love of sports under his coach and father Fred and friendships that would last his entire life. Michael married his wife Lori on April 3rd, 1993. A loving husband and devoted father, his generosity overflowed into the people he met and the lives he touched. Ever the life of the party, his joy and laughter reverberated through the din and left a smile on all who knew him. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. A celebration of life will be held on September 30th, 2023 in Louisville, NE.
