Michael attended Corcoran High School in Syracuse and graduated at the top of his class at Fayetteville-Manlius High School in the Syracuse suburbs. He went on to attain a bachelor’s degree in economics from Cornell University.
While in college, Michael attended the London School of Economics for one year and fell in love with England. After his graduation from Cornell, he studied at Cambridge University, receiving his M.Phil. degree in international relations. (Michael was proud of the oar he earned for rowing for Darwin College at Cambridge, where he also made lifelong friends.)
Returning to Syracuse, Michael worked for a short time in his parents’ company, J.B. Brady Inc., which sold and serviced Toledo scales. He then enrolled in Columbia University Law School in New York City and became an associate at the New York City corporate law firm of Sullivan & Cromwell upon graduation. Michael worked in the firm’s New York and London offices and eventually moved to the London office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where he was a partner specializing in U.S. securities law.
Michael is survived by his husband, Garry Voskanyan, of London; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Jacqueline Brady; his sister, Rose Brady; his niece and her husband, Jennifer and Eric Henn; his nephew and his partner, John J. Brady and Aja Richardson; and a great nephew and great niece, Jackson and Avery Henn.
He was predeceased by his parents and by his sister, Ellen T. Brady, of Naples, FL.
A celebration of Michael’s life was held on March 15, 2018, in London. Michael’s remains are interred alongside those of his parents and sister at the columbarium of St. Peter the Apostle Church in Naples, FL.
