I have known Nancy for many years through mutual friends, Blaine and Knaubby Miller. We met in Naples and some years back the Millers and Nancy and Bill spent a few weeks with me in Italy while living in Rome. We had a wonderful time. We continued to communicate through phone calls, emails, and written notes over the years.

She was a dear friend. I hold her in prayers and will always cherish the memories of our times together.

Nancy was a wonderful lifelong friend of my mom’s (Pat Schmidt) from their days together at Northwestern & in Chi Omega. I met her many times, including in her lovely Naples condo. We will all miss her lively generous spirit and send our love to the extended family.

Over the years I’ve come to know Nancy as a kind, intelligent and gracious person. I met her in an unusal way, she accidently drove her car into a canal while parking to go into work. I jumped in and pulled her out of her sunken car.
She has shown her gratitude every year since then by sending birthday, Easter and Christmas cards containing gifts to myself and my only child. Every yr in May, the anniversary of the rescue, she called or sent a lovely card thanking me.
We shared our lives with each other and became friends. Her gracious spirit will be missed.
Prayers of comfort sent to all who loved her. Karen Ames Caylor
