Born in the borough of Manhattan in New York City, Peter enjoyed a long and impactful life, including a successful career in the telecommunications industry before retiring in 2015. In 2016, he married Diane, the love of his life, and relocated to Naples, Florida where they built a beautiful life together.
Peter was a lifelong sports fan and an obsessive New York Yankees supporter. But his real passion was community service and Kiwanis International was his chosen vehicle for helping those in need. Peter was a longtime member of the New Jersey District of Kiwanis International for whom he served in various leadership positions including District Treasurer. He also served as the Financial Advisor for the New Jersey District Key Club Board of Directors for six years guiding high school students on the development of financial strategies for budgeting, financial forecasting and how to fund projects. But most importantly, Peter served as a mentor, confidante and role model for a myriad of students.
Upon relocating to Naples, Peter immediately became an active member of the Northside Kiwanis Club and became a Kiwanis Advisor to local Key Clubs because, while retired from his chosen profession, Peter believed that you never retire from community service.
Always leading by example, one of Peter’s proudest accomplishments was raising $12,000 from family, friends and Kiwanians which allowed The Thirst Project to drill a fresh water well in a Swaziland village, a life changing gift for the people of that village.
Peter is survived by his loving wife Diane Brinke, his father Tom Mollo and wife Roxanne Kiefer, his sister Patricia Mollo, his brother Craig Mollo, his nephews Jordan Velez, Brian Velez, Owen Hendricks and niece Madison Hendricks.
A gravesite service for Peter will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 9:30 AM at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Avenue N, Naples Florida 34108.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate charitable donations be made to Northside Kiwanis Foundation, PO Box 110333, Naples, Florida 34108.
May his memory be a blessing.
