Robert W. Rostron, born May 14th, 1937 in St. Louis MO, died April 8th, 2021. He is survived by his beloved sister, Barbara Bennett, his children, Kirk, Audrey and Sharon Rostron, and his grandchildren Carter, Alex, Isabella, and Liam.
Robert received a degree in electrical engineering from Washington University and his Ph.D in nuclear engineering from the University of Arizona. After serving as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, Rostron had a successful career through both the private and government sectors working for the Dept of Defense, Dept of the Navy, Comsat and Worldnet, a division of the Unites States Information Agency where he was instrumental in deploying satellites and satellite receivers globally to forward the public diplomacy efforts of the United States during the cold war. Rostron spent the remaining of his working years teaching high school and University science classes in southwest Florida. Rostron had a brilliant mind and loved to work crossword puzzles, read, and challenge his grandchildren with political and scientific issues. He also enjoyed cruising the world where he would dance the night away.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on April 14th at 11:00AM at St. Johns the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Ave. N., Naples, Florida.
