

He leaves behind his five children, Mike Marlow (Karen), John Marlow (Melissa), Cindy Stevens (Rick), Patrick Marlow (Sue), Gail Marlow and his first wife Shirley. He is also survived by his step-children from his marriage to his devoted wife Carol, Joe Corbeill (Debbie), Jeanine Oswald (John), Jon Corbeill (Kathy), sister-in-law Marianne Brady, sixteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was a loving husband, son, brother, father, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law and loyal friend.
Ron worked at Exway Electric in Harper Woods, Michigan for the majority of his career, doing both sales and management. He was actively involved in the Michigan Electrical Contractors Association, where for years he held the position of treasurer. He co-founded RSM Auctions and after he retired opened This-N-That, an antique shop in Port Sanilac, which he managed for 11 years.
Ron also enjoyed traveling after retirement and visited Poland, China, England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. He also cruised to most of the Caribbean islands and last year cruised through the Panama Canal and visited Columbia.
Hobbies he enjoyed were: antique auctions; car racing; hunting; snowmobiling; high school football; adult softball; diver for Detroit and Grosse Pointe Police departments; fishing; boating; camping and traveling. He also was an avid collector of covered wagons, clocks, knives, guns and Jim Beam bottles.
Ron will be remembered for his sense of humor, his quick wit and gentle spirit. He always had a desire to help others and welcomed opportunities to help make a difference. He took pride in being a veteran and served in the US Army. Organizations that benefited from his volunteerism and leadership skills include: Bonita Springs Literacy Council; Lions Club: Knights of Columbus; Boy Scouts of America; Michigan Electrical Contractors Association; American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities (The fundraising division for St Jude Children’s Research Center); Grosse Pointe Shores Little League and others.
He enjoyed his summer home in Lexington, Michigan near Lake Huron. His winter home was in Bonita Springs, Florida where he was an active volunteer and former President of the Lion’s Club. He felt humbled to receive the Melvin Jones Award, the highest award within Lions for his dedication and commitment.
Ron took his failing health in stride and never complained and instead enjoyed the companionship of caregivers especially Evelyn Rivera as well as family and friends. He had a special place in his heart for Coleen Galbraith, a caregiver and “adopted daughter” who affectionately called him Papa Ron.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd at noon at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples, Florida.
