

Ron was born in Toledo, Ohio to Edward and Helen Stempien on December 26, 1956. He graduated from St. Charles Grade School, Bowsher High School (Class of 1974) and studied at Owens Community College in Toledo. He married Marilyn Hopkins on October 13, 1979, in Toledo. He worked as a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler for GM Powertrain in Toledo, retiring in 2006 after 30 years. Ron loved Luna his husky, Michigan Football, cars, and testing his luck at the casinos. He was a dedicated Parrothead, and he and Marilyn attended at least 25 Jimmy Buffett concerts.
Ron was preceded in death by Marilyn, his wife of 34 years, and his parents, Edward and Helen Stempien.
Ron is survived by his sister, Sharyn (Michael) Bocian, his nieces, Amy (Ryan) Stretmater and Jennifer (Kurt) Donnell, and his great-nieces, Emily and Mackenzie, and great-nephews, Evan, Logan and Carter.
Private graveside services were held under the direction of Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens in Naples, Florida.
Ron's family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to his friend Danny and his neighbors who helped him during his illness.
