Ossining, New York passed away peacefully on October
18, 2019.
Rosemary was born to William and Elizabeth “Betty”
(Breen) Hanrahan on July 22, 1935 in Ossining, New
York.
Rosemary graduated Ossining High School in 1953.
Throughout her life, Rosemary worked in many roles, at
AT&T in New York City, a sales associate and bookkeeper
in Ossining and ultimately retiring from the Maryknoll
Fathers and Brothers as an accounting auditor in 2002.
Rosemary married the love of her life, her gentle and kind
husband, John on February 4, 1956 and together raised
their family in Ossining. They spent 46 wonderful years by
each other’s side before John’s passing in 2002. Later
that year she moved to St. Charles, Missouri and then
Colleyville, Texas. Rosemary loved her time in the
Midwest and South, creating many wonderful memories
and making new friends along the way before settling in
Naples.
Rosemary is survived by two sons, John Jr.(Sharon) of
Buchanan, NY, Vincent (Cathleen) of Sandy Hook, CT
one daughter Kathleen (Kevin) Palmiotto-Lyons of Naples,
FL, four grandchildren, Jill, Daniel, John III, Mary Kate,
and one great granddaughter Nora Joanne.
Rosemary also leaves behind many adoring relatives and
friends to cherish her memories.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband,
brother William Hanrahan and daughter-in-law Joanne
(DiDomizio) Palmiotto.
Rosemary was never without her infectious smile, a kind
word and her hilarious quick wit. Rosemary will always be
remembered for her compassion and generous spirit. Her
heart was full and she was incredibly proud of her children
and grandchildren’s life accomplishments. Rosemary was
also very proud of her Irish heritage but preferred her
cabernet over a Guinness.
Rosemary was an avid music lover, her taste ranged from
her “boyfriend” Andrea Bocelli whom she had seen twice
live in concert to Dan and Shay, Bruno Mars and
everything in between. Her favorite past times were
attending live musical, comedy and theatrical
performances, dining and shopping around town and
enjoying the gulf view from the Naples Pier. Rosemary
loved to travel and enjoyed years of flying on TWA and
American Airlines, always ready for any adventure! An
extremely passionate animal lover, she will be missed
most by her beloved black Texas rescue kitty Lulu.
Rosemary loved and cared for all of God’s creatures and
enjoyed the amazing nature watching and glorious
sunsets from her Naples lanai.
Most important to Rosemary were the special times she
shared with her loving, extended family and friends.
