

Stan was born in Chillicothe, Ohio to Leroy W. Dyson and Dora Mae Dyson on May 23, 1942. He was the 13th child born to his parents. After Chillicothe High School, Stan joined the Navy. He served on the USS Kitty Hawk on its maiden voyage serving 2 tours in Vietnam.
Stan lived in Windham, Ohio where he raised his children. In 1981, he moved to Naples, Florida, where he met and married Nelda Dyson. Their bond to each other was phenomenal. He was proud of his 26 year career with the City of Naples as Press Operator in the Waste Water Department.
Stan was a dedicated member of East Naples Baptist Church and was Head of Building and Grounds for many years.
Stan is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Howard Dyson and John Dyson, 9 sisters, Helen Watson, Marcy Pence, Tina Schuyler, Lois Philips, Wanda Fink, Evelyn Retherford, Pearl Johnson, Mable Jean as an infant. His son, Donald Dyson, Grandson, Zackery Dyson, and Sandra Tucker – mother of Stan’s children.
Stan is survived by his devoted wife, Nelda, of Naples, and Daughters Stephanie Hayes of San Carlos, Park, Traci Wolfe of Marysville, Ohio, and grandkids, Greg, Alisha, Tori, Larry, Jessie, Brady, Jack, Matthew, Marcus, Sandra, Cynthia, and 6 great grandchildren and one on the way, and several nieces, nephews, and 2 sisters, Secilia Lee and Roxanna Ritchie and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held graveside at Hodges Memorial Gardens at 2:00PM on May 16, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to East Naples Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
