Known for her sense of style and honest advice, she helped many look their best as manager for Lilly Pulitzer and Harold Grant before retiring at Saks Fifth Avenue in a career that spanned four decades.
Despite her professional career, she skillfully managed her household that included her husband Jack, and her kids Alec, Pete, Katie and Ruthie as a master cook and home maker. She was good at everything she tried, but truly great at some things, as anyone lucky enough to get a cake on their birthday will attest.
A faithful member of Trinity-by-the-Cove Episcopal Church, she is survived by a multitude, including her children Alec (Ali), Katie Shotwell(Chip) and Ruthie, grandchildren Dylan (Vanna), Emily, Dustin, Samantha and Sarah Winters, CJ (Ashley), Chris (Tammie), Jeff (Danielle), and Ali Shotwell; great grandchildren Griffin, Cooper, Grier, Hadley, Emma, JJ, Tanner, Kayah, Peyton, Kylee and Aleta.
She was preceeded in death by her beloved husband Jack and her son, John Peter (Vanessa).
We will miss you Nena, on many levels, but are eternally grateful to God for giving us our very own Greek Goddess.
A celebration of her life will be held at Trinity-by-the-Cove which will be announced at a later date.
