Tyler loved academia. He was a voracious informed thinker. His mind was filled with books that ranged from philosophy to nutritional authorities. .He was a bodybuilder and an artist. A graduate of The Community School of Naples, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts at the University of North Carolina. He then studied business at the University of Virginia. When he decided to become a doctor, he enrolled at FGCU for additional pre-med courses. This is where he met Kathryn MacLaughlin, who along with Tyler, enrolled in medical school.
Tyler was a second year student at the University South Florida Health Morsani College of Medicine. He had recently received his white coat . He had a perfect MCAT score and was at the top of his class.
He is survived by his beloved wife of almost two years,.When Tyler met Katie, he recently told his family, "Being with Katie has been the best years of my whole life." Kindred spirits, they frequented DisneyLand on weekends and, in fact, were married there. They were an attractive, healthy and special couple. He was her Prince Charming and she, his Cinderella.
A young man's life filled with the promise of a great future was accidentally and abruptly cut short. His death has created a tremendous void in the lives of his family and friends.
The heartbroken family remains to grieve their tragic and sudden loss. .Tyler was a caring and loving son,adoring husband, brother, uncle and nephew. His parents, Tom and Debbie Reavis, will miss him every day of their lives.They will always have the memory of his everyday life with them and all of the family trips they shared throughout his growing up.
Tyler's family members who will keep his memory in their hearts are his brother and sister, Bill and Stacey Reavis.Aunt Kathy Reavis, nieces and nephews Olivia Wade, Jack Wade, Emma Reavis and Lilly Reavis.
Tyler became the son and brother the MacLaughlin family never had. Katie's parents, Diana and Hugh and her sisters Christy Marie and Grace will mourn their loss.
Viewing and services will be 2-4 pm followed by services at 4 on Saturday, December 14 beginning at the Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens at 525 111th Avenue North, Naples Fl.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations for Tyler's widow, Katie Reavis on gofund,me.com in honor of Tyler Reavis 1987-2019 to assist Katie with the ongoing expenses associated with medical school.
