A devout Catholic throughout her life, Virginia was married for 67 years to her beloved husband, Harold, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. During their retirement years in Naples, Harold and Virginia enjoyed cruises and traveling with friends overseas to Europe, the Mediterranean, Ireland, Hawaii, etc.
Virginia was known for her giving spirit, always ready to help others. She was the perfect wife and mother, a guiding light and source of strength to all. Everyone who knew her appreciated her honesty and enjoyed her cheerful and vibrant personality. She was passionate about her profession as a hairdresser, continuing her craft well into retirement. She loved the comradery with her customers and co-workers at the beauty salon where she worked.
She was an outstanding cook, especially known for her Italian cuisine and desserts. Virginia’s coveted recipe for spaghetti sauce is beyond compare, despite many attempts to duplicate. Virginia claimed that a steady diet of spaghetti and meatballs throughout her life was her secret to longevity. Celebrations at the family table made holidays truly special events, with large gatherings of family and friends.
Virginia is survived by her three children, seven grandchildren, sister-in-law, and four great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and a large extended family. Her treasured and talented children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
