William (“Bill”) Edward Brower, 86, of Naples, Florida, husband of Norma Lee Prather Brower, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Naples Community Hospital. He was born on June 10, 1926, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the parents of the late William and Viola Brower.
Bill served in the Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. He worked 47 years in the film distribution industry – 17 years with Universal Pictures and then he retired from Walt Disney Studios as their Divisional Manager after 30 years of service.
Bill was a loving family man and a very proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His greatest joy was golfing and watching the sunsets over the ocean.
Bill will be dearly missed by his wife of 61 years, Norma; his daughters Jenny Bentley and Joyce Brower, both of Naples; his son William J. Brower of Atlanta, Georgia; his six grandchildren and great grandchild; as well as, his sister Carol Payne of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Bill was preceded in death by his son Thomas Edward Brower and his sister Joann Forman.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens at 525-111th Avenue N.; Naples, Florida 34108. A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples FL 34105.
