I worked with Anthony when he was at Everyday Health. He was such a good guy.  We only met in person a couple of times, but it was clear he was one of the good ones. I loved talking with him about sports. He truly was such a sweet soul. It was so clear talking with him how much he loved his family.

Jaclyn, I am so incredibly sorry. There are no words. I am just heartbroken. You and your entire family are in my prayers.

Anthony was the most wonderful, kind, and truly genuine person. He lit up every room with his charismatic personality, and he was always such a friendly face at Marist. He will be sorely missed by so many. My condolences to the Navarro family.

Anthony and I shared the same birthday, a bond that connected us from the very beginning. I was a year older than him, but we grew up side by side as friends since kindergarten. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of our families getting together at Red Lobster every year to celebrate our birthdays. Back then, it felt like those traditions would last forever.

One of the things that made Anthony so special was his personality. He was positive, charismatic, and had a way of making people feel welcome wherever he went. In many ways, he was my complete opposite. Where I could be quiet and reserved, Anthony was outgoing and full of energy. Yet somehow that difference never mattered. We became close friends as kids, and despite our different personalities, our friendship always felt natural and genuine.

As life went on and I moved away from New York, we lost touch. Though each year we would reconnect on our birthdays sending messages and saying how we need to reconnect in person. I regret not being able to him up on the opportunity. Even though the years created distance between us, I never forgot Anthony or the impact he had on my life. 

My thoughts are with his family and everyone who loved him. Thank you, Anthony, for the memories, the laughter, and the friendship. You will always be a part of my story, and you will never be forgotten.

Anthony, fratello mio. It’s taken me a bit to process this. Heaven gained an angel. A genuine and kind man with a big heart. Although we never met in person, our talks together on twitter were always delightful. We always shared our personal stories and had good laughs. We also had more serious conversations, moments that helped me a lot through some dark times. My favorite convos with you were about God, the word, how he changed our lives for the better. We will see each other again one day, this I know. I will continue to be the best Christian I can be, just like we both strived for brother. Love you fratello 🩵✝️

Although I knew Anthony primarily through my son James and their treasured friendship that began at Marist in 2013, I later discovered that our families had lived in neighboring towns sharing the same zip code for decades - a coincidence that made the connection feel even more special. 

Anthony was one of those genuinely kind people who left a lasting impression. He generously offered to help with a repair at my home recently simply because that's who he was. 

A few weeks ago, we invited Anthony to join us for our family's Sunday dinner. His response to James was "That made me tear up to hear I'm part of the fam".  Those words touched my heart. They reminded me how much Anthony valued family, friendship and belonging. 

Our family is grateful to have known Anthony and grateful that he knew he always had a place at our table.

Close to 20 years of friendship. I still remember the first time I met you when you came into your mom’s classroom at St. Francis CCD in the 4th grade to steal her candy. 

Thank you for making me laugh almost every day since. Too many memories to list. Not enough words to say how much you mean to so many people.

Anthony, my cousin, one of my best friends. I can’t believe that you are gone, I am going to miss you terribly. You were the kindest person I’ve ever met. Your heart was so big and you cared about everyone. You always texted me or called me to see how I was doing, not just in the worst times of my life, but all the time. You mean so much to me, but I know God called you home for a reason. Your faith in Jesus was so strong, I will always remember this quality about you. Nothing can ever replace the time we spent together since we were little, from having sleepovers, to watching and playing sports, to just hanging out and goofing around. You were the absolute best. I can’t wait to see you again one day, and you give me a huge hug like you always did. I will carry you with me always, and cheer on our sports teams (especially Napoli) like you would want me too. I love you so much, I will miss you always.

My nephew Anthony, we are so devastated and heartbroken over this tragic loss.  I can’t believe that I will never see your beautiful smile again.  I have such fond memories of all our times together, baking Christmas cookies with Dad or Apple pies for Thanksgiving and the barbecues on Memorial Day. In a tragic ending to a beautiful life, Anthony is at rest with our Lord. To be called Home suddenly is never easy, however I know my older brother Paul Okeke was waiting behind the Pearly Gates to welcome Anthony. In the days to come, lean on who is closest and I pray that you find solace in living on.

I’m so very sorry to hear about Anthony’s passing. He was a great friend and person to me at Marist. We’re the same age and graduated the same year from Marist (2017) and he’d always welcome me with a friendly smile or kind remark. He will be missed dearly and will always be a red Fox <3

New years eve was always either at my house or uncle As. We all shared laughs, drinks, and lots of love at those parties. Heres a picture from one of them. There are countless times where we made memories with all of our cousins. Growing up close like this made us more than cousins, we were friends. I will never forget you, I will never not miss you. I am so sorry this happened to you my cousin. I love you so much Ant. You are so special. I am so grateful I got to hug you and tell you I love you at Andrew’s wedding. I am so grateful for how much you hugged me and told me you loved me. You will live on forever in my heart. I love you cuz.

Anthony and I met working at West Nyack Swim Club about 15 years ago. We were the blue collar guys, working maintenance and snack bar shifts every day all summer. Just two goofy Italian American boys bonding over the job, the Giants and Classic Rock, especially Led Zeppelin. We were fast friends. Our friendship very quickly evolved into hanging out outside of work and in the winter. Eventually we’d go to college, coming back for the summers to do the same job. I had a blast visiting him at Marist. He was so genuine the way he wanted me to meet all of his friends. After college, sometimes time would go by and we wouldn’t see each other for months and months but eventually we would get back together and all of a sudden it was just like we were those two teenagers in that snack bar again. We would go out to eat and catch up, “putting away some plates” at the Hard Wok Buffet. A tradition of ours. 

Anthony could make the grumpiest person smile on their worst day and he quite literally radiated positivity to everyone around him. His laugh was infectious. He really would give you the shirt off his back, not just the saying. And he would truly do anything he could for his friends and family. He would never hesitate to tell his friends he loved them and you just knew how much he meant it. He had a bigger heart than anyone I’ve ever met. 

I am devastated that I have seen him for the last time just a few months ago at the Giant game. I will cherish all those hours we spent working those long summer days at the swim club. I will honor his memory as long as I live and I feel lucky to have called him a friend. I’m heartbroken for his mother and sisters, their extended family, and all of his many, many friends as they navigate this difficult time; and this ocean of grief we find ourselves in. The world is a little less bright without you, Anthony. I love you, my brother.

We were shocked when we heard the news. .  From kindergarten to prom! You will be deeply missed by so many.  May you rest in peace.

I hope my son dances like Anthony.

There was always something delightfully improbable about watching a man built less like a ballet dancer and more like a defensive lineman step onto a dance floor and become the most charismatic person in the room. Anthony possessed a rare gift: an ability to generate joy wherever he went and convince everyone nearby to participate in it.

But the dancing was only the most visible expression of something deeper. Anthony believed that family was everything, and unlike many of us, he treated that sentiment as a daily practice rather than a decorative slogan. If you were fortunate enough to be loved by him, you knew it. It was evident in his loyalty, his generosity, his protectiveness, and in the countless ways he showed up for people without being asked. He had an extraordinary talent for making room for others whether in his plans, at his table, or in his heart. Because of that, so many people moved through life with the comfort of knowing they had someone firmly in their corner.

The grief we feel now is proportional to the love he gave away so freely. Yet grief has a peculiar way of revealing what remains. Anthony is still present in the stories that will be retold for years, in family traditions that will outlive all of us, and in the habits of love and loyalty he leaves behind in the people who knew him.

Years from now, when my son laughs too loudly, gathers people around him, or dances without the slightest concern for who might be watching, I’ll think of Anthony. And I’ll be reminded that a life is not measured only by its length, but by its reach. By that measure, Anthony’s was immense.

Words cannot express the shock and sadness I feel on your tragic death. I am so sorry this happened to you. You did not deserve this; you were one of the good ones. No matter what happened, good or bad, you were always there with a smile, showing your respect. That says a lot about your character. You were a good son, and your love for God was apparent in the way you lived your life. I know you are in Heaven now with Jesus and reunited with your dad and also with Uncle Val.

Anthony and I met at Marist in 2013. During one of the welcome/get to know each other activities in Leo Hall (the dorm we stayed at our freshman year), we ended up discovering a small world connection. We found out that his cousin went to the same high school as I did. Anthony was a fun guy to be around and was always smiling. There was never a dull moment with him. My condolences and prayers to his family and friends. Rest in Peace Anthony.

I knew Anthony as a wonderful young man and a cherished friend of our family. He and my son became close friends at Marist College, sharing many memorable experiences and good times together. Anthony's happy-go-lucky spirit, warm personality, and genuine friendship seemed to touch everyone who knew him. I'm sure he will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family, friends, and all whose lives he brightened.

Anthony was always so kind with the most positive spirit. He truly lit up every room he walked into and left a mark on everyone lucky enough to cross his path. There are people in this world who just make everything brighter simply by being in it, and Anthony was one of those people. I knew of Anthony through my close friendship with Jaclyn in college, and I still remember how excited she was when he was going to Marist too. The bond the two of them shared is so special and it's something everyone around could feel.  My heart is so heavy for your entire family and I want you to know you're so deeply loved and surrounded by so many people holding you close right now. Sending you and your whole family every ounce of love I have.

My best buddy growing up. Right up the street! We spent nearly every weekend together and all summer long growing up. Riding bikes around the neighborhood, skating, and being young dumb and fun kids. I am flooded with memories. All of the greatest parts of my childhood had you right by my side. The infamous Yankees Mets game! Our tradition of running off the bus to my house on the last day of school every year to play “schools out for the summer” on guitar hero, and then just hanging out and being carefree til the sun went down. The Navarro’s are one of the most incredible families that I have had the privilege of getting to grow up with. You walk into their home and you are welcomed as if you are one of their own. And Anthony had that same presence everywhere he went and always with a smile on his face. He had a way of making you feel seen. And even as life naturally took us in separate directions, we still kept in touch and the genuine love and connection was always there in every conversation. That same love he showed anyone that had the privilege of being around him. Your dad will be so proud of the man you have become. I’ll be blasting some El Ten Eleven and Tycho from down here, and maybe even start a new breath of the wild campaign in your memory.  Thank you for everything.

Anthony, you were one of my first friends I’ve made coming out of elementary school. Always there for the boys in the group through the good times, the bad times, even the worst times. Always knew what to say to cheer everyone up. I wish we had more time to hang together since I’ve moved to South Carolina, but you were one of my biggest supporters in the move from Rockland to South Carolina. The group has definitely went on different paths, with me and Burrill being down south, our homie okeke up in heaven, but we’ve always kept in touch and tried to make time to see each other whenever I was up. Give Paul and your dad a hug for me brother! Thank you for always being one of my true friends.

I met Anthony a handful a times. He had a light about him that made you feel like you were instantly friends. We are both huge wrestling fans and would occasionally text about it. During a WWE show, I went to buy some food with Anthony, he wouldn't let me pay. He knew I was a young college kid with not too much money. He said, "I got it bro, money's not an issue for me." I told him I'd pay him back but he wouldn't let me. It was one the first times we met and it speaks to his generosity. After that show, we all went out to a bar. Everyone sat a table while me and Anthony went to the bar just us two and hung out. Some guy who had a bit too much came up to us and gave us a "lesson" on friendship, me and Anthony listened and thought it was the funniest thing. From my limited experiences with Anthony, I was able to experience his kindness, generosity, humor, and his infectious laughter. I am beyond grateful for it. My condolences to Anthony's family and close friends.

Anthony was the best of the best. I had the privilege of working with him during his time at Everyday health.  A true standup individual. He was always smiling, and just an all around amazing individual. I am so thankful our paths crossed.  I was and am still devastated to hear this news. I'll miss chatting with you about all things. Sending my condolences to everyone you had an amazing impact on.

Anthony was part of my team at Quest Diagnostics.  I only knew him for a short time but he made a lasting impression. His positive attitude and warm demeanor was the thing that made him special.  He was a master of rapport and brought a great energy to any conversation.   He will be missed.

I worked with Anthony for a few years at Everyday Health. He was a truly genuine guy with a heart of gold. I had just heard the news and this broke my heart. They dont make them Like Anthony anymore. He put others first, he was a supportive and good person to everyone. My condolences to his family and girlfriend which he loved more than anything and cant forget the Giants.

My condolences to the family I played baseball with him and saw him at school he was a really great friend to me and always said hi to me in the hallway always had a smile on his face. when I would be bullied by others he would ask me what’s wrong I would tell him nothing and he always told me don’t let others get in the way of what you want to do in life. don’t listen to them they are losers and he was right thank you for being really kind to me as a friend also as a teammate when we played baseball together I will never forget All the kind things you did for me may you rest in peace you will be taken care of up in heaven.

This hits hard! We’ve known each other going all the way back to being Altar Servers at St Francis. We did flag football at Festa and Youth Group. I still remember rooming together at CYO Conference and it was the best year hands down because you made everything a good time. I’ll always be grateful for the support you gave me when I lost my parents. We both bleed blue hard for the Giants. I wish I kept in better contact with you after I left Rockland. A few months back, I found you on LinkedIn and thought about reaching out to catch up but life got in the way. Now I wish I did. You and your family were always so wonderful to me and my parents. You were one of a kind in the best way possible. If there were more people like you, the world would be a happier place. You are already missed by so many people. I truly believe that you would give the shirt off your back if someone needed it. Genuinely one of the nicest guys I ever met. The world lost a great person but Heaven gained a great angel!

Anthony was the nicest guy any friend, girlfriend, son or sister anyone could have! I remember when I first met him and his family when he was my son’s roommate at Marist back in 2013. My son and Anthony were  very close all 4 years while at  Marist and  for the years after graduation.  Anthony will be sorely missed as he was taken way too early from us.  God has called him to be with his Dad making sauce up in Heaven. We miss you like you’ll never know Anthony. It was great to spend the time we did with you though limited. Rest in peace brother!
