Arlene Rose Brownsell

Arlene Rose Brownsell passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2026. She was with family and friends until she passed peacefully. Arlene graduated from Pearl River High School in 1978 and the B.O.C.E.S Nursing Program. Soon after she began her nursing career at Nyack Hospital where she remained for years.

Upon leaving Nyack she continued to provide loving care for several family members. Even in her final moments she wanted to help others by being an organ donor. Her life of selflessness and compassionate care was an example for all.

Arlene enjoyed gardening, baking, photography, music and time with her friends and family. She is survived by her brother Everett Brownsell, her "furry son" Levon Helm ( Yes, she named her cat after the famous drummer) and many friends. Goodbye for now Arlene. We will always love you!

Burial will be held at St. Anthony Cemetery, 36 W Nyack Rd, Nanuet, New York 10954, on September 1, 2026, at 11:00 am.
