Boris Nikonoff

Boris Nikonoff of New City, NY was born December 16, 1952 and passed away September 18, 2026 after a sudden battle with brain cancer. Boris is survived by his loving wife Barbara Battaglia Nikonoff, daughter Adrienne Nikonoff and granddaughter Anastasia Altenor. He was pre-deceased by his son Alexander Nikonoff. He is also survived by his brother and sister in law Paul and Doreen Battaglia, one niece, three nephews, two great-nephews and a great-niece expected in October.

Boris was born in Haifa, Israel before emigrating to San Paulo, Brazil as a young child. In Brazil, he attended a Russian all boys parochial boarding school until eventually immigrating to the United States with his father at the age of sixteen. Boris graduated from Nyack high school and by this time, could fluently speak four languages. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army where he served for four years as a heavy artillery tank driver stationed in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge, Boris attended Rockland Community College for two years where in 1976 he met his future wife, Barbara. He then went on to attain his bachelor’s degree at New York University.

Boris and Barbara got married on June 25, 1981. As an international sales executive, Boris’ career took him on many business trips aboard to Europe and Latin America. Their daughter was born in 1984, followed by their son in 1986. Boris became a grandfather in 2007 and retired in 2017.

Boris was a loving, dedicated, hard working husband, father and grandfather. He was kind, had a great sense of humor and was happy to be surrounded by his loving family. He will be greatly missed.
