To the cool suave gentleman, Jorge Ramos. I have such fond memories of you.  The Office. I still have the artwork that you gave me of the dragon which I proudly displayed on the wall in my office at Fordham Plaza; so special because you gave it to me. I'll always love that work of art! Trips to The Haunt, finding treasures.  I enjoyed our group walks with PS and RC through Fordham University, (the ID, LOL) on our way to Botanical Gardens. Friendship!  I've missed you!
 I will remember you always with admiration, respect and a smile. 🙂

To George Sr., 

Sir, and my long distance Dad, thank you thank you thank you for all that you showed me and taught me.! 

I met Georgie (George Jr.) in 3rd grade. And through Georgie, I met his amazing parents and beautiful sisters. And the rest of the clan, Georgie’s extended family.  

Via Georgie, I learnt to make a tie, throw a football, appreciate antiques, explore other cultures (Authentic Chinese food), went on my first fishing trip, and that it was ok to have pizza for dinner on a Friday night! Oh!!! And he gave me my 2nd job at Something Olde Something New!!!! Child labor laws were not enforced then!!!  ❤️ 

All this was possible because George Sr. taught his son and was an absolute amazing dagger figure and role model. Hence, George Sr. was my father figure 
& role model as well. Forget that…he was my Dad at a distance!  Thank you George Sr. for having been a part of my life! 

I would run into George Sr. in my adult years. We would have a drink, go to karaoke in the neighborhood, and even visited him at the flea markets he would sell. ❤️. George I will miss you! 

I have to say, I, and all of us who were touched by George, were tremendously lucky to at least have had the honor to have lived at the same time as George…and that is a blessing!!! 

Thank u 🙏 George for allowing and support Georgie and all his friends to explore life, be different, and make it our own. 

You were a compassionate man ❤️. You are etched in my heart. Keep on rocking those congas, stay with the vintage shades (because they look awfully cool on you) and continue to watch over your family!

Thank you George Sr. For the impact you had on me. You epitomized what a family can be. You epitomized what a Father can be. You epitomized what mankind can be. I will forever celebrate u always. Love u! ❤️

What is there to say? If you were someone that George cared about and loved, you hit the friend/family jackpot. Your life was better for having him in it, and his passing leaves an immeasurable void. 
If there is a heaven, I hope George's heaven will have all his loved ones who've gone before him, who will listen and laugh at his corny jokes, 24/7 thrift shops and flea markets, a set of congas in every club on every corner, and lots of Italian cookies to grab a handful at a time. 
I was always in awe of how good and kind you were, I told you so. I try to follow your example, and sometimes I fail, but I know you wouldn't fault me for it. 
I hate that you're gone, but if our spirits do go somewhere, I want to see you again wherever that is. 
Rest well, big brother. I hope you knew how much you were loved. ❤️

Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. George was a special part of my formative years, and I will always cherish the memories I have of him. I first met him through my mom and dad's workplace, and I can still picture his warm smile.

Some of my fondest memories are of visiting him at the flea market on weekends. I loved spending time there and seeing him in his element, connecting with people and doing what he enjoyed. Although it has been many years since I last saw him in person, his kindness and the impact he had on my life have remained with me.

George will always hold a special place in my heart, and I am grateful for the memories I was fortunate enough to share with him.

I can still hear him whistling, that tap upon the desk,
A rhythm so familiar, simple at its best.
He walked to the beat of his own life's song,
And somehow made us all want to sing along.

Genuine people are never truly gone;

A gentle giant who brought us joy year after year.

To my only Grandfather I’ve had and couldn’t have asked for a better one. He always had such a calmness to himself and always somehow had some stupid jokes to tell us. I’ll always remember and cherish the times we had from the movies to wrestling matches or a boys fishing trip ( he didn’t catch a whale). Rest East Gpa I will always try and make you proud.

Evelyn, I am very sorry about George. He was a special character. I know that you will sorely miss him. You guys made four beautiful children and you had lots and lots of stories to share. You are a great couple.

To our brother-in-law, George,

We have known each other since high school, more than half a century ago. We will always cherish the wonderful vacations we shared with the Ramos and Fornes families. Beyond our vacations together, we also enjoyed our many trips into New York City, strolling through Central Park, exploring Chinatown, and listening to the free concerts in the park.

We will always keep George and the wonderful memories we shared close to our hearts. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. We will always remember the kind, caring, and wonderful human being he was.

My brother lived a very honest and caring life.he  Would want to to help family, friends,or even casual acquaintances.not a mean or malicious bone in his body. Was very funny with a slow,deadpan wit,and was quite deversified in various areas.i missed him  even before he moved on to a greater reward.and though we are diminished by his departure, we are also enriched for the pleasure of knowing and having him in our lives. Stay Kool my brother.for you will never be forgotten.

How my heart aches as I write this. Dad, you were truly the best. Always loving, patient, kind, generous and thoughtful. You were proud of all your children and grandchildren and were sure to let us know it.  It was a joy to spend time with you and watch you truly enjoying your retirement. That is when we all saw how talented you were. Watching you perform and do things you’d never done before was admirable.  Your love was felt every day and I will miss hearing you say you love me more every time I told you I loved you.  What I would do to hear it again. I’ll miss you for the rest of my days. Rest well Dad.

We are deeply blessed to have grown up surrounded by so many beautiful memories of the times we spent with our Uncle George. We will treasure them forever. We will always remember his wittiness, his laughter, and the mischief in his smile. As long as we hold these memories close, his spirit will live on. Whenever we think of our uncle, we will remember him as:

A gentle giant walked among us,
With hands that could have moved mountains,
Yet chose instead to lift a rhythm
From the warm skin of a conga drum.

His voice was never one to demand attention.
It simply invited you closer,

In time, he found another rhythm—
The haunting cadence of Edgar Allan Poe.
With his beloved beside him,
He breathed life into every shadow,
Turning old words into living stories,
And every performance into a gift.

Though the drums have fallen silent,
And the final page has been turned,
The echoes remain—
In every beat, every verse,
And in the hearts of those fortunate enough
To have known George.

My beloved grandpa and godfather, we will miss you so much. There are so many happy memories of morning pancakes, being chased by the “zombie” in your yard, digging through treasures in your basement, and you carrying me when I was too tired (or too much of a brat) to walk. You taught us all so much about how to be a good person. I will spend every day trying to be as kind, considerate, and cool as you were. Love you forever❤️

My dad taught me so much. Kindness, grace,  warmth, generosity and how to be a man. 

He also taught me how to be an antiques dealer here we were together in the early 1990s slinging our wares at the flea market on 26th st in NYC. 

He gave me a great love for New York City, for art, for good food and for friends and family. He gave me curiosity. I will cherish every moment we shared and will think of him always. Rest in peace daddy, I love you and I know you “love me more”…

Missing our dad so much. He is pure love and light. Our lives will never be the same but we know he surrounds us with his beautiful kind spirit always. Dad I love you so much.

Remembering our handsome, generous and loving dad. He was the best father, grandfather, brother, son and husband! 

Quite the character, he loved dressing up, loved antiques and had so many interesting hobbies in retirement. He lived his life with pure joy and loved, loved, loved his family.

Our hearts are broken losing him but we gained a guardian angel.
