Georgette T. Skelly

April 30, 1942- August 21, 2026

With heavy hearts our mother, Georgette T. SKelly passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family early morning on August 21, 2026. Georgette was born on April 30, 1942 to Carimie and Alexander Katra in Brooklyn NY. Georgette grew up in Brooklyn NY. After high school she was an executive secretary. September 11, 1965, Georgette married the love of her life, Michael, and they shared 58 wonderful years together. They had three children, Michael, Julie (Jim Sclafani) and Lisa, whom they raised in New City, NY. After raising her three children she became a Teaching Assistant for Pearl River high school. Georgette was predeceased by her parents Carimie and Alexander Katra, her sister Glory, brother-in-law Nick and sister Toni. Georgette had a passion for entertaining, spending time with her family and most of all her six grandchildren, James, Patrick, Joseph, Ryan, Corinne and Kevin. She was a devoted Catholic of St. Augustine’s Church.

Visitation will be held at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 321 South Main Street, New City, NY 10956, on August 25, 2026, from 9:00am to 11:00am

A mass will be held at St. Augustine’s Church, 140 Maple Avenue, New City, NY 10956, on August 25, 2026 at 11:30am

Burial will take place at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, 36 West Nyack Road, Nanuet, NY 10954, on August 25, 2026 at 12:45pm
