Jeannie M. Cartelli

Jeannie was born on September 3, 1930, in White Plains, NY to John and Julia Caverly, where she spent her childhood with her 7 siblings.

Throughout her life, Jeannie was known for being a great mother. She enjoyed crafting and spending time with family.

Jeannie spent years working as a waitress, a part owner of the Brass Lantern Restaurant, and on a school bus helping handicapped children. During her career, she was proud of her jobs and retired at the age of 78.

Family was always very important to Jeannie. She was the beloved wife of the late Chester Cartelli and a devoted mother to her six children: Paula, Sue, Jeannie, Jessica, Marilyn, and Chet, along with two deceased sons-in-law and her surviving 3 son-in-laws. She was predeceased by her husband, Chester, and four of her children, Jessica, Jeannie, Marilyn and Chet. She is survived by her two remaining daughters, Paula and Sue. She was a cherished grandmother to 17 grandchildren, along with their 13 spouses, and a proud great-grandmother to 27 great-grandchildren, including two spouses. She was also blessed with four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, who will carry her memory in their hearts. Jeannie treasured the time she spent with her family, and the love and memories they shared will remain with them always.

Jeannie’s life was filled with love, family, friendship, adventure and she touched the lives of family, friends, coworkers, community members. Her legacy will live on through her family that is still growing today where she is leaving behind 5 living generations.

Jeannie will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. She leaves behind lots of love and memories that will remain in the hearts of her loved ones forever.

Visitation will be held at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 321 South Main Street, New City, NY 10956, US, on September 2, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A graveside service will be held on September 3, 2026, at St. Anthony's Cemetery at 11:30 am.
