December 9, 1935 – October 18, 2026
Michael E. McKeever a long-time resident of Stony Point, NY, passed away peacefully while in the competent, kind care of the Joe Raso Hospice Residence, in New City, NY, where he was visited by his children, grandchildren, and friends.
Michael was born and raised in the Washington Heights section of New York City, to James and Mary McKeever. Michael served, and was a paratrooper, in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958. He also competed as a lightweight boxer during his tenure in the service.
In 1968, he relocated to Stony Point, where he married his wife Joan, and raised their family. At that time, he also became a stepfather to Joan's four children, Peter, Jimmy, Theresa, and Lisa. In 1970, their son, Michael II, was born. Michael was employed by
UPS in New York City, for 41 years, where he put in many long hours, and worked very hard to support his family. After retiring from UPS he worked part-time as a driver for The Stony Point Conference Center.
After retiring, Michael spent many hours golfing. He especially enjoyed taking golf trips to Myrtle Beach with friends, and his son, Michael. Michael had a love for all animals. If there was a stray dog or cat in the neighborhood, they were not stray for long. Over the years, he could be seen walking his many dogs through the neighborhoods of Stony Point. Michael will be remembered as a family man, quiet but strong, compassionate, charitable, and quick-witted. He enjoyed being in the company of his family, especially his grandchildren, and great grandchildren, whom he shared many milestones with, and was always proud, and supportive of them. He especially enjoyed his time with them during the Christmas season, as he loved buying them more toys than their parents could fit in their cars!
Michael is survived by his son, Michael (Helen) stepchildren, Peter J. DiNuzzo (Anna), James J. DiNuzzo, Theresa DiNuzzo-Konchalski (Ron), Lisa M. DiNuzzo, his grandchildren, Jacqueline DiNuzzo (Rachael), James DiNuzzo II (Sandra), David DiNuzzo, Melissa DiNuzzo, Amanda Makara, Robert DiNuzzo, (Juliana), Joey Makara,
