Patrick J. Ferguson

Patrick Ferguson passed away peacefully on March 4, 2014. He was born in Manhattan on November 22, 1924 in Hell's Kitchen. He is predeceased by his loving wife Jean (nee Connolly), his mother and father Joseph and Mary (nee Battle) Ferguson, his sister Margaret Timko. He is survived by his children Maureen (Dominic) Mauro, sons Patrick Ferguson Jr., James (Patricia) Ferguson and Brian (Celine) Ferguson; loving grandchildren Craig, Kevin, Christa, Craig Jr., Dylan and Brian; beloved nephew Dr. Richard King and family and special friend Louise Adams. Patrick served 4 years in the US Navy during World War II where he served in the Normandy Invasion and the South Pacific. He joined the NYPD soon after his years in the Navy. He served 24 years in the 40th pct. He also worked for Town of Clarkstown Parks and Recreation for 26 years until his retirement at age 79. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, neighbor and co-worker. He was a truly special person and we loved him dearly. He always had a joke and a smile and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.Family will receive visitors on Saturday from 4-8pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc, New City, NY. Mass of Christian burial will take place Monday 10am at St. Anthony's Parish Church. Interment to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery.
