Richard Stephen Kravarik of Naples, Florida peacefully passed away on September 16, 2026 at the age of 86. Affectionately known as Uncle Richie, Richard was born in the Bronx, New York to Stephen and MargaretKravarik (née Groffinger). After graduating from Cardinal Hayes High School Richard became an electrician with the New York City Housing Authority, rising through the ranks of Foreman to Supervisor to Superintendent before retiring after 33 years. Richard proudly served in the New York National Guard and the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. He moved from the Bronx to New City in 1973 where he resided with his beloved wife Audry until moving to Naples permanently in 2014. Audry and Richard loved traveling together across the U.S. and around the world. Richard was a renowned antique Civil War arms collector, a Lifetime Member of the American Legion, and a 32nd Degree Mason. Above all, Uncle Richie was always there with a joke and to lend a hand when needed. He is predeceased by his parents, brother Donald and wife Audry.
Visitation will be held at Michael J. Higgins in New City, New York on Wednesday September 23, 2026 from 3pm to 7pm. A funeral mass will be held on September 24, 2026 at10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church in New City, followed by burial in St.Mary’s Cemetery in Clark, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Patty Baker Humane Society Naples.
