Rose Ward, 73, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on Saturday, April 7, 2012. She was born on March 1, 1939 in Port Glasgow, Scotland to John and Leah Duffy. She met her love, Sean, in Manhattan and married on October, 23, 1965. Rose is survived by her loving husband, Sean; her four children Sean and Christina (Ziegler), Michelle and Thomas Braun, Jennifer and Brendan Galligan, and Kimberly Ward. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren: Sean, Sara, Elizabeth, Caroline, Joseph, Ella and Maeve. Her greatest joys in life were singing, caring for children, and drinking a good, hot cup of tea. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 9, from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, 11:30am, St. Francis of Assisi Church in West Nyack, NY followed by interment at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY.
