

Abe Daniel Lubritz of Covington, LA was a beloved father and grandfather. He was born on September 29, 1934, in New Orleans to Sadie Kleinfeldt Lubritz and Aaron Lubritz. Abe attended Newman School and graduated from Bell Buckle Military Academy in Tennessee where he played multiple sports. After high school, Abe graduated from the University of Alabama with a business degree, before returning to New Orleans to work in the family business.
Abe was special to all who knew him. He is remembered for his love of bridge and books. He loved sports and watching his beloved Alabama, Tulane, LSU, and Saints. He looked forward to The NCAA Basketball Tournament every year. He was an active member of The Northshore Jewish Congregation.
Abe was preceded in death by his parents, Sadie Kleinfeldt Lubritz and Aaron Lubritz and sisters, Ennis Kops and Mildred Covert.
Abe is also survived by his sons, Danny Lubritz and Gregg Lubritz; and grandchildren, Asher, Sophi, Taylor, and Brad Lubritz. Abe is also survived by his sister, Celia Lubritz Katz; niece, Diane Africk; nephews, Stephen Katz, John Kops, and Martin Covert; and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 23, 2026 at Temple Sinai, 6227 St Charles Ave, New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service.
